IT Consultant (Various Locations)

The IT Service Desk employs students at a variety of on-campus locations to support different departments. We have students working at Campus Rec, Networking, Memorial Union, Health Sciences, and more.

A remote location position will allow you to work more independently or in a smaller team and build more hands-on experience. Each department offers its own technical experiences. We will provide training for all locations so please do not be discouraged from applying if you don't feel you have that specific type of experience.

All current positions require you to work on-campus and in-person.

CURRENT REMOTE LOCATION OPENINGS:

Campus Recreation - You would work at the Mackal Fieldhouse, Keaney Gym, and occasionally the Fascitelli Fitness & Wellness Center. You will help with general IT questions, help set up new computers and find practical solutions to inquiries from the staff members there that work directly with Intramural activities and some of the athletic departments. 

URI Foundation - It is a lot of troubleshooting and basic URI IT problems that come on a per request basis. Some of the IT problems you commonly see are printer setups, computer setups, audio/visual problems (zoom, webex), etc.

Nursing - This is a fairly new one that will have a few opportunities. There will be time for helping out with basic IT/troubleshooting and this will all be led by the Full Time Staff member they have currently. You may be on projects that you approve of in terms of helping the staff there.
